Decorating with Silk Flowers for a Fresh New Look

Flowers command attention. It’s just that simple: flowers command attention. They can make a room virtually come to life, and probably the easiest method to use would be using silk flower arrangements. These are pre-made and can go straight from the box to a display in almost all situations. Using these is the easiest technique one can use when decorating to have a significant effect on a room.

Selecting Silk Flowers

Silk flowers can be found in a variety of sizes, can be arranged by flower type, or can be combined to create a different look. Many common varieties are popular such as Hydrangeas and Roses. Tulips and Daisies are also common choices to work into arrangements but really the choices are limitless. As for container options, popular choices are simple clear vases that might contain fake water as well as many different types of synthetic vases.

Silk flower arrangements provide an explosion of color, so, it's imperative that you consider the color of your silk flowers to make sure you have chosen the right one for your room. Many colors are easy to find, such as orange, pink, red, yellow, green, and cream. It is also easy to find seasonal arrangements that are very attractive, in particular those with a fall or holiday theme. It is common for these arrangements to have neutral colored vases, but clear ones are also very common.

After color, you need to consider height. Personally, my preference for a dinner table arrangement would be shorter ones so that your guests are able to have a clear view of each other while seated. Other situations call for different heights. For example, a fireplace mantle or entry foyer may call for a rather tall flower arrangement. Any intimate area such as a dining table calls for a rather compact, small arrangement.

Beautify Your Space

Don't neglect your office, though, when you are deciding on your silk flower arrangements. Most office spaces call for an arrangement of medium size. Because a great deal of time is spent in an office, it is important to make them look nice. Silk flower arrangements are a great way to achieve this.

Between the simple nature and relatively small expense of using silk flower arrangements, they are an absolute necessity for any decorator. Most small arrangements will sell for between $20 and $50. Larger arrangements could cost anywhere from $150 to $250. As you can see, the cost is very similar to that of fresh ones, but these silk ones will survive for years to come. Personally, I have a number of differing arrangements that I can use for our dining room table and I simply alternate them at different times of the year. This proves to be very cost effective, Storage is a breeze and I can often take a new one straight from the package to the table. Not only is price a benefit, but they are also remarkably easy to maintain. Simply dust lightly every once in awhile and they are ready to go.
